Alicia Willis
Alicia is the founder and lead instructor of A+Languages and brings more than 25 years of teaching experience to her students. She earned a Master’s degree in Spanish from the University of North Carolina in 2009, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Hispanic Studies in 2008, and a Bachelor of Science in Management/Human Relations in 2003.
She founded A+Languages in Broward County in 2009 with the goal of providing personalized, practical Spanish instruction tailored to each student’s individual needs and objectives.
Throughout her career, Alicia has taught as an adjunct college professor, high school teacher, Berlitz Spanish immersion instructor, and private language instructor. Today, through A+Languages, she provides personalized Spanish instruction to business and government professionals, as well as adults and students seeking to improve their communication skills.
Her past and current students have included attorneys, government employees, public health professionals, business owners, real estate professionals, military officers, FBI and DEA personnel, college and high school students, retirees, and other lifelong learners.
Alicia specializes in one-on-one and immersion-style Spanish instruction and is highly experienced in adapting lessons to each student’s goals, profession, learning style, and level of proficiency. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes a multi-sensory approach, incorporating presentations, video, music, conversation, real-world scenarios, and other interactive tools to make learning Spanish practical, engaging, and enjoyable.
She is a member of the American Translators Association (ATA), the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP), the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL), and the National Spanish Honor Society.
Alicia’s goal is simple: to help every student gain the confidence and practical language skills needed to communicate effectively in Spanish.
